Canada’s national team heroes visited the Oakville Soccer Club on Sunday 19 September. Oakville alumni Kara Lang and Diana Matheson put on a special clinic with their teammates at the Pine Glen Soccer Centre, meeting some 326 fans in the process.
Les vedettes de l’équipe nationale avaient rendez-vous avec le Club de Soccer d’Oakville le dimanche 19 septembre dernier. Kara Lang et Diana Matheson, anciennes joueuses d’Oakville, ont dirigé un stage avec l’aide de leurs coéquipières au Complexe de Soccer Pine-Glen et du même coup, ont fait la rencontre d’environ 326 amateurs de soccer réunis pour l’occasion.

Canada will play China PR on Thursday 30 September at BMO Field in Toronto, ON.

Canada’s Diana Matheson has become the sixth Canadian player to make 100 appearances for the national team. The Canadian midfielder reached the century mark this evening in a Women’s International Friendly match against two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup champion Germany.

Canada has moved up to seventh amongst CONCACAF nations on the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking. Canada played two Men’s International Friendly matches on the recent FIFA International Dates, posting an 0:1 loss to South America’s Peru on 4 September and a 2:1 victory over North America’s Honduras on 7 September. Canada gained 73 points and jumped 13 places on the world ranking (two places within CONCACAF).
Canada’s women’s national team was all together on Monday 13 September, the team’s first full training session in Dresden, Germany with the arrival of Christine Sinclair and Candace Chapman from FC Gold Pride of Women’s Professional Soccer. The team practiced for two hours at the Dresden Dynamo practice field, across from Rudolf Harbig Stadium.
L’équipe féminine nationale canadienne avait rendez-vous le lundi 13 septembre pour la première séance d’entraînement de l’équipe complète à Dresden (Allemagne) avec l’arrivée de Christine Sinclair et Candace Chapman en provenance du FC Gold Pride de la Ligue professionnelle de soccer féminin (WPS). L’équipe a pratiqué pendant deux heures sur le terrain de jeu du Dynamo de Dresden, juste en face de Rudolf Harbig Stadium.
