Ottawa, Ontario – A media conference to discuss the Women’s Gold Cup will be held at the Laurel Point Inn in Victoria on Tuesday, October 29 at 2:00 p.m. in Salon A and B.
The four head coaches from each of the four countries in Group B (Haiti, Jamaica, Costa Rica and Canada) will be available along with the captains of each team.
Canadian Women’s World Cup Team Head Coach Even Pellerud will attend along with team captain Charmaine Hooper.

An 18th player will be added prior to Canada’s opening game against Haiti on October 30 at Centennial Stadium in Victoria, BC at 8:00 PT (live across the country on Rogers Sportsnet).

Ottawa, Ontario – The Canadian Soccer Association today announced the appointment of Sean Fleming to the newly-created position of CSA National Staff Coach – Community Development, effective December 1, 2002.
Fleming has been the Director of the National Training Center – Prairies since 2001 and will retain his responsibilities overseeing the scouting and coaching of nationally identified players in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
The Canadian Soccer Association today announced that its Senior Men’s National Team will play the National Team of Libya in Tripoli on February 12 followed up by a match versus Estonia in Tallinn on March 29. Both matches will represent the first time Canada has played either nation.
The United Nations Association in Canada (UNA-Canada) and the Canadian Soccer Association (CSA) will partner to bring the 2002 Global Peace Games for Children and Youth to Canada. The Games will take place around the world in September and October, to celebrate the United Nations International Day of Peace, designated for September 21. The Games are locally organized, planned and financed by non-governmental organizations as a global civil society initiative to celebrate the centrality of children and youth in the United Nations International Decade for Peace and Nonviolence 2001-2010.
