Soccer fans across the country are asked to vote for their favourite Canadian players in the 2010 CanadaSoccer.com Fans’ Choices poll. Voting begins today and runs through 19 December 2010. Fans are asked to vote for one male player and one female player.

Les membres des médias et les entraîneurs devront choisir deux joueurs, un homme et une femme, pour le prix le plus convoité de l’Association canadienne de soccer; le titre de Joueurs canadiens de l’année. Ce prix récompense le meilleur joueur et la meilleure joueuse du pays pour leur performance exceptionnelle en 2010, tant au sein de l’équipe nationale senior qu’auprès de leur club respectif.

Le Canada a été établi dans le groupe A de la Coupe du Monde Féminine de la FIFA, Allemagne 2011 avec la France, le Nigeria et le pays hôte de la compétition l’Allemagne. Le Canada affrontera l’Allemagne dans le match d’ouverture du tournoi qui sera disputé le 26 juin 2011. Le Canada disputera son deuxième match de groupe contre la France, le 30 juin et puis son troisième et dernier match de groupe contre le Nigeria, le 5 juillet.
Canada has been drawn into Group A of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011™ with France, Nigeria and host Germany. Canada will in fact face the host Germany in the opening match of the tournament on 26 June 2011. Canada then faces France on 30 June and Nigeria on 5 July.
Ali Gerba has been named professional soccer player of the year by the Fédération de soccer du Québec. Gerba won the award on Saturday night for the third-straight year, picking up the top professional honour at Soccer Québec’s annual awards gala.
The Newfoundland Labrador Soccer Association has announced its 2010 award winners. The award winners were celebrated at the annual general meeting at the Battery Hotel in St. John’s, NL. The two big award winners were 2010 Senior Players of the Year Tyler Putt and Mallorie Harris.
