Dix-huit joueuses invitées pour affronter la Norvège

Ottawa, Ontario – L’entraîneur Even Pellerud de l’équipe canadienne féminine de Coupe du Monde a invité 18 joueuses au sein de son alignement pour le match international amical contre la Norvège, le mercredi 17 juillet au stade Centennial d’Etobicoke, en Ontario. Le site du match a été confirmé puisque la grève des cols bleus de la Ville de Toronto est terminée.



Cette rencontre opposera l’entraîneur du Canada à l’équipe qu’il a mené au titre de championne du monde en 1995 et mettra en vedette plusieurs joueuses s’alignant au sein de formations de la WUSA.

Soccer Month To Air On YTV

Ottawa, Ontario – The Canadian Soccer Association today announced a new association with YTV and Kellogg’s which will see an integrated promotion launched on-air on YTV and on-line at ytv.com. The promotion includes “Soccer Shorts” (vignettes featuring Canadian National Team players), on-line soccer games, drills and tips, live webchats with Canadian National Team players and a Kellogg’s “Get on the Team” contest.

Vergara Named To Final List Of Officials

Ottawa, Ontario – The Canadian Soccer Association today announced Canadian assistant referee Hector Vergara has been chosen as one of the 32 officials (16 referees and 16 assistant referees) who will work the final eight games of the 2002 FIFA World Cup.

Sharpe Elected CSA President At AGM

Ottawa, Ontario – The Canadian Soccer Association today announced Andy Sharpe has been elected to a two-year term as President of the Association during the annual general meeting in Halifax over the weekend. The meeting also saw the election of a new Vice President, the re-election of two positions with the Board of Directors and former Women’s World Cup team player Geri Donnelly receiving the Aubrey Sanford Award.

Quinn and Stavro Named Lifetime Members

Ottawa, Ontario – The Canadian Soccer Association announced today it has honoured former CSA President Terry Quinn and Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors Chairman Steve Stavro with Life Memberships in the CSA at the Annual General Meeting in Halifax.



The two become the 19th and 20th members among a distinguished list of individuals who have dedicated their time and efforts towards the development of the sport of soccer in Canada.

Pellerud Names 16 Players For Toronto Training Camp

Ottawa, Ontario – Canadian Women’s World Cup Team Head Coach Even Pellerud has invited 16 players to attend a week long training camp in Toronto from June 14-21st. The camp will be the first project for the team since it finished second at an international tournament in France in April. It will also help prepare the squad for the upcoming international friendly against Norway on July 17 at Centennial Stadium in Etobicoke, ON.

Il s’agit d’un premier rassemblement pour cette formation depuis sa deuxième place récoltée au tournoi international de France, au mois d’avril. L’équipe se prépare ainsi pour le match amical international du 17 juillet à Etobicoke, Ontario face à la Norvège.

Fleming Awarded FIFA’s Order of Merit

Ottawa, Ontario – The Canadian Soccer Association today announced CSA President Jim Fleming has been awarded the prestigious FIFA Order of Merit for his dedication to the sport of soccer in Canada and around the World. Fleming becomes the first Canadian to win the coveted award.

New Site Launched For FIFA U-19 Tournament

Ottawa, Ontario – The Canadian Soccer Association today launched a new web site dedicated to the inaugural FIFA U-19 Women’s World Championship which will be held in Edmonton, Vancouver and Victoria from August 17 – September 1, 2002.
The new site, which can be reached through the CSA web site at migmultidev-canada-soccer.pantheonsite.io, features an array of information on the venues, cities and teams as well as complete ticket information. The site will continue to expand as the tournament draws near with media accreditation forms being available for downloading in July.
