Canada visits Oakville Soccer Club

Canada’s national team heroes visited the Oakville Soccer Club on Sunday 19 September. Oakville alumni Kara Lang and Diana Matheson put on a special clinic with their teammates at the Pine Glen Soccer Centre, meeting some 326 fans in the process.



As part of the event, Oakville Soccer Club members raised some $1,700 for the Haitian women’s national team.



In all, 12 members from Canada’s national team took part in the event. The event coincides with Canada’s return home from a recent Women’s International Friendly match in Dresden, Germany. Canada opens camp on Monday 20 September in Alliston, ON and faces China PR at Toronto’s BMO Field on 30 September.



As for Canada, it will take on China PR on Thursday 30 September at BMO Field in Toronto. Tickets to the match are available via Ticketmaster (Ticketmaster.ca / 416.872.5000). The match will also be broadcast live on Rogers Sportsnet.
