Soccer in Schools is a national initiative by Canada Soccer designed to bring the joy and benefits of soccer directly into classrooms across the country. The program helps teachers deliver fun, inclusive, and educational soccer experiences — while connecting schools with their local community clubs to create lasting pathways to play.
Through curriculum-aligned lesson plans, teacher training, and free student playbooks, Soccer in Schools aims to inspire kids to get active, build confidence, and stay connected to the sport in their community.

These fun, age-appropriate books are perfect for Kindergarten to Grade 9 students and feature inspiring soccer legends, interactive activities, and educational content designed to engage young learners both on and off the field.
No matter your child’s age or skill level, there’s a Playbook for them:
• Kindergarten to Grade 2: A playful introduction to soccer with colouring pages, fun facts, and simple activities.
• Grade 3 to Grade 5: Write a letter to your soccer legend and explore interactive games and skill-building challenges.
• Grade 6 to Grade 9: Dive deeper into soccer with advanced challenges, goal-setting exercises, and leadership lessons.
Available in multiple languages, these Playbooks are inclusive and accessible to schools and families across Canada.

Canada Soccer envisions a country where every child can access quality sport and recreation in a safe, fun, and welcoming environment. The Soccer in Schools project plays a vital role in achieving this vision by connecting local soccer organisations with the public school system to provide engaging, inclusive soccer experiences.
Compared to many sports, soccer is simple to play, affordable, and accessible to people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. The program helps remove barriers by equipping teachers with the tools, confidence, and curriculum to deliver meaningful soccer experiences — even without prior soccer expertise.
We want to thank our initial partners — BC Soccer, Saskatchewan Soccer, Ontario Soccer —and the participating community clubs and schools. With over 350 schools and 64 clubs already engaged, the program continues to expand nationwide.
