earned Bachelor degree in social services from Université Sherbrooke... studied physical education at the University of Alberta... earned her Canada Soccer Coaching A Licence... 
 
in 2006, she became the first women’s coach inducted into the Canada Soccer Hall of Fame (she was just the second female non athlete inducted as an honoured member, following former referee Sonia Denoncourt who was inducted one year earlier)... 
 
wrote Sylvie Béliveau in 1992, “our Women’s National Team faced the reality of the international competition at an infant stage and in order not to lose face with the opponents, adopted a system promoting a defensive style - conservative and preventive. This choice allowed Canada to remain in good ranks in the different competitions. Slowly over the years, the team built up an attacking system which served efficiently in the Concacaf qualifying tournament”...
