CANWNT ‘Summer Send-Off Series’ kicks off massive Summer of Soccer

Two Women’s National Team matches against Mexico on home soil in early June.

Canada Soccer announced today a special ‘Summer Send-Off Series’ featuring two Women’s National Team matches against Concacaf rival Mexico on home soil in early June. The two-match series, co-presented by CIBC and Visa, will form a key part of Canada’s preparations for this summer’s marquee women’s international football competition – the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in late July.

Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team will open the series against Mexico on Saturday 1 June (14.00 ET) in Montréal, Quebec before shifting to Toronto for the second match on Tuesday 4 June (19.30 ET). Tickets will go on sale to the public 27 April via canadasoccer.com.

“We are excited to reconnect with our fans after some fantastic home games at the back of 2023 which really kicked off our 2024 Olympic Campaign,” said Bev Priestman, Women’s National Team head coach. “The tremendous love and support for this team was felt coast to coast and this window will be a great opportunity to send this team off in style to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Mexico has shown recently they are a difficult team to face, which is exactly what we need before finalizing our Olympic roster and continuing to evolve and cement our tactical identity before the 25th of July.”

The ‘Summer Send-Off Series’ will serve as an opportunity for fans to see and show their support for Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team before they embark to represent our nation on the biggest international stage this summer.

“We are thrilled to be back on home soil to help send off our defending Olympic champions, as they continue their preparations for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games,” said Daniel Michelucci, Director of National Teams Operations. “Confirming these opportunities takes a tremendous amount of work behind the scenes and I want to thank all the staff that helped make this happen. We know that the fans in Montréal and Toronto will come out to make these matches special.”
