l’équipe canadienne féminine de Coupe du monde a annoncé son alignement de 18 joueuses pour les deux matchs amicaux contre le Nigeria, à Spartanburg, en Caroline du Sud. Les joueuses ont rendez-vous à Spartanburg mardi le 15 avril et disputeront leur premier match contre le Nigeria, vendredi le 18 avril à 19 h. Le deuxième match sera disputé dimanche le 20 avril à 13 h.
Seize des 18 joueuses nommées au sein de l’alignement ont pris part au tournoi de la Coupe d’Algarve il y a quelques semaines. Le défenseur Clare Rustad et le gardien de but Taryn Swiatek s’ajoutent à ce groupe.
Ottawa, Ontario – The Canadian Soccer Association was officially informed by FIFA today that the Draw for the 2003 Women’s World Cup scheduled to be held on May 24 in Wuhan, China has been postponed due to risks posed by the outbreak of SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome). No new date for the draw was announced.
FIFA also announced today that the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship, originally scheduled for March 26 – April 16 in the United Arab Emirates but postponed due to events in the Middle East, has been rescheduled for November 27 – December 19 in the UAE.
Ottawa, Ontario – The Canadian Soccer Association and the Local Organizing Committee today announced it has already sold 32,000 tickets for the upcoming international friendly between Canada’s Women’s World Cup Team and Mexico on August 31 at 2:00 p.m. at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton.
“I am very proud and pleased to announce that through our partnership with the Local Soccer Districts in Alberta and the Alberta Soccer Association, 32,000 tickets for this game have already been sold,” said CSA President Andy Sharpe during the media conference.

Canada’s “Road To China” will then continue in Ottawa against England on Thursday, May 22nd, followed by more games in Canada against South Korea on June 18 (Toronto) and June 20 (Montreal), and Mexico on August 31 (Edmonton) and September 4 (Vancouver).
