Match Report

Canada ‎won 7:0 over Jamaica on the second match day of the 2015 CONCACAF Women's Under-20 Championship. The victory secured another three points and earned Canada a place in the semi-final stage where they can book a spot in the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup Papua New Guinea 2016.

Taylor Pryce led the way with a second-half hat trick (50', 68', 80') while goalkeeper Rylee Foster and her defence line posted another clean sheet. Sura Yekka (4'), Sarah Kinzner (21') and Shana Flynn (27') scored in the first half while substitute Vital Kats (69') scored moments after her entry in the second half.

The Sunday morning match was played at the Escuela Internacional Samprenada in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. The match was originally scheduled for Saturday 5 December, but it was postponed by one day after inclement w‎eather left the Estadio Olimpico Metropolitano in unplayable condition.

Canada's goalscoring started early on, with a Yekka long shot from the right side beating the goalkeeper off her line.

On the second goal, Sarah Stratigakis stepped over the ball and let Sarah Kinzner blast it low and past the goalkeeper for a 2-0 lead. Kinzner bent her right-footed shot‎ around the five-player wall and beyond the diving Ricketts.

Then before the half-hour mark, Shana Flynn made it 3-0 with a right-footed blast from the penalty spot. Flynn went top right with her shot.

In the second half, ‎Pryce scored her first after Lamontagne was played down the left side and cut a pass back from the touch line. Pryce was in perfect position to tap it in with her left foot.

Pryce then scored again on another pass from Lamontagne 18 minutes later. With almost an identical run, Lamontagne cut the ball back to the top of the box where this time Pryce struck it in with her right foot.

Moments later, a Canadian double substitution produced immediate results: right back Emma Regan crossed a ball that bounced past Ricketts and into the path of Vital Kats who headed it in.

At last with 10 minutes left to play, Pryce rounded out the scoring with her third of the game. Sarah Stratigakis cut the Jamaican defence with her pass forward so that Pryce could one-time a right‎-footed blast past Ricketts.
