Canada has qualified for the semi-final stage of the 2010 CONCACAF Women's Under-20 Championship. Canada qualified after finishing first in its group with a perfect nine points. Canada won 1:0 over Costa Rica, 2:0 over Cuba and 3:1 over host Guatemala.
Canada now has three days rest before the semi-final stage on 28 January. Canada will face the second-place team from Group B, which will either be USA or Mexico. Group B wraps up on Monday as Jamaica faces Trinidad and Tobago and group leader USA faces Mexico. USA needs but a win or draw to finish first in its group; Mexico needs to win if it wants to leapfrog USA.
The 2010 CONCACAF Women's Under-20 Championship runs 20-30 January in Ciudad Guatemala. Four teams have qualified for the CONCACAF semi-final stage from which three teams will qualify for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup Germany 2010. While Canada finished first in its group, Costa Rica finished second following its second win in a row.

It has won eight games in a row, counting five straight in 2008 and now three more at the 2010 championship. On Thursday 28 January, Canada will be looking to qualify for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup for a fifth consecutive time.
