Match Report

Canada won 5:0 over Jamaica on the third match day at the CONCACAF Girls' Under-15 Championship in Orlando, FL, USA. Sydney Kennedy (two), Teni Akindoju, Jordyn Huitema, and Caitlin Shaw were the goalscorers as Canada won their third match in a row.

FIRST HALF:

From the get go, Jamaica tried to get around the Canadian defence with their speed, but the backline was up to the task. Canada pushed back and moved possession in their favour. In the 21st minute, Teni Akindoju tried her chance by chipping the ball over the defence, but the shot went over the bar.

In the 23rd minute, Canada took the lead on a left-footed shot from Sydney Kennedy from the right side. She drilled it into the far corner of goal for a 1-0 lead.

Before the half-hour mark, Jamaica's Monique Perrier had a chance stopped by midfielder Olivia Scott, while Akindoju had a chance smothered by goalkeeper Jada Schokley. Then in the 31st minute, Isabella Hanisch moved the ball to Akindoju whose first shot was blocked by Schokley. There was no denial on the rebound, however, as Akindoju made it 2-0 for Canada.
