Match Report

Canada won their fifth match in a row at the 2016 CONCACAF Girls' Under-15 Championship, this time a 10:0 win over Curaçao in the competition's Quarter-Finals. Six different players scored for Canada, with four goals in the first half and six more in the second half.

Goals were scored by Jayde Riviere (18', 45'), Maya Ladhani (21'), Jordyn Huitema (24', 33', 37', 43'), Julia Kostecki (61'), Olivia Scott (65'), and Teni Akindoju (69').

With the 17 August win, Canada are now guaranteed two more matches at the competition in Orlando, FL, USA. Canada's next match is the Semi-Final on 19 August against Mexico.

FIRST HALF:

Canada opened the scoring in the 18th minute after Isabella Hanisch played a through ball to Riviere. Riviere gave Canada the 1-0 lead. Just three minutes later, Ladhani made it 2-0 with a shot from the top of the box.

In the 24th minute, Huitema scored her first of four goals after a cross from left back Julianne Vallerand. In the 33rd minute, Huitema took a pass from right back Hanisch and then scored to make it 4-0 for Canada.

SECOND HALF:

Canada picked up where they left off shortly into the second half. In the 37th minute, Maya Ladhani made her way past a couple of defenders before feeding Huitema for her hat trick goal. Six minutes later, it was Caitlin Shaw's turn to serve as provider as Huitema made it 6-0 for Canada.

In the 45th minute, Riviere went one-on-one against Curaçao before hammering her shot into the net. In the 61st minute, Kostecki fired a rocket from 30 yards out.

From a Kostecki free kick in the 64th minute, Olivia Scott made it 9-0 with a header. Then in the 69th minute, Mya Jones fed Akindoju who completed the scoring at 10-0.

LINEUP & NOTES:

Canada's starting XI featured Sophie Guilmette in goal, Isabella Hanisch at right back, Maya Antoine and Sonia Walk at centre back, Julianne Vallerand at left back, and Olivia Scott, Caitlin Shaw, Maya Ladhani, Jayde Riviere, Sydney Kennedy, and Jordyn Huitema from the midfield up through to the attack.

In the second half, co-coaches Joey Lombardi and Carmelina Moscato replaced Vallerand with Julia Kostecki (42'), Hanisch with Alexia Cajilig (44'), Kennedy with Aaliyah Scott (48'), Shaw with Mya Jones (54'), and Huitema with Teni Akindoju (57').

Curaçao's starting XI featured Sharientely Francisca (goal), Evy Huiskens, Rosheny Kastaneer, Freshemny Michiel, Missuenly Reina, Jurina Kook, Reismarly Tokaay, Julienne Martina, Lindsey Hart, Staygin Stephens, and Aryse Nicholson.

Coach Gesilene Kerindongo replaced Francisca with goalkeeper Tihainy Nicolaas (30'), Nicholson with Thirza Van Aarkel (32'), and Reina with Loenairies Hose (63').

Referee Oshane Nation cautioned both Kastaneer (5') and Stephens (56') of Curaçao. The 70-minute match was played in front of approximately 50 fans at the Field 18 at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
