Match Report

Canada took home a silver medal at the 2018 Concacaf Women’s Championship after an 0:2 defeat to champions USA. Rose Lavelle early (2’) and Alex Morgan late (88’) were the two goalscorers.
 
BY THE NUMBERS:
Canada fired three shots (two of which were on target), connected for 221 of 265 pass attempts (83%), won 11 steals, and held 43% possession against USA. Canada’s pass leaders were Ashley Lawrence with 30 of 34 pass attempts completed, Shelina Zadorsky with 29 of 30 pass attempts completed, and Rebecca Quinn with 28 of 33 pass attempts completed. Goalkeeper Stephanie Labbé made five saves.

Canada's starting lineup featured Stephanie Labbé in goal, Ashley Lawrence at right back, Kadeisha Buchanan and Shelina Zadorsky at centre back, Allysha Chapman at left back, and Rebecca Quinn, Sophie Schmidt, Jessie Fleming, Nichelle Prince, Janine Beckie, and captain Christine Sinclair from the midfield up through to the attack.
