Canada defeated Cuba 12:0 in the second group stage match of the 2018 Concacaf Women’s Championship at H-E-B Park in Edinburg, TX, USA. Adriana Leon and Jordyn Huitema each scored four goals while Deanne Rose, Rebecca Quinn, Christine Sinclair and Diana Matheson scored one goal each. Kailen Sheridan posted the clean sheet while Leon earned Player of the Match honours.
 
BY THE NUMBERS:
Canada’s statistical leaders were Adriana Leon with 11 shots, Shelina Zadorsky with 44 passes (on 46 pass attempts), and both Jordyn Huitema and Julia Grosso with two steals each. Canada fired 46 shots (31 of which were on target), connected for 316 of 371 pass attempts (85%), won seven steals, and held 68% possession over Cuba. Just behind Zadorsky, Rebecca Quinn completed 43 or 45 pass attempts, Sophie Schmidt completed 42 of 46 pass attempts, and Diana Matheson completed 30 of 38 pass attempts. Goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan posted the clean sheet, but did not have to make any saves in the victory.

In the second half, coach Kenneth Heiner-Møller replaced Lawrence and Rose with Christine Sinclair and debutant Emma Regan (46’) as well as Grosso with Gabrielle Carle (67’).
 
Cuba’s starting lineup featured Lucylean Martinez (goal), Zailin Rodriguez, captain Yarisleidy Mena, Jessica Pupo, Yaremis Fuentes, Sucel Maceo, Francis Riquelme, Yennifer Ramos Lopez, Rachel Peláez, Lilian Pérez, and Dianelis Carbonell.
