National Teams Administrative Manager Hired

Ottawa, Ontario – The Canadian Soccer Association today announced the hiring of its new National Teams Administrative Manager. Earl Cochrane, formally with DC United of Major League Soccer (MLS), has signed on full-time with the Canadian Soccer Association to administer the National Teams program.
Cochrane, a Toronto native, has been the press officer with DC United for the past 17 months and during his tenure, he assisted with arranging team needs while on the road.
With the approval of the Blueprint for Success last month by the CSA Membership, there will be significant additions to the overall National Teams program through the creation of multiple National age/gender development teams. In 2001, the CSA will field 10 different National Teams in all age/gender groups, with this increasing to 13 different squads in 2002 and beyond.
As the new National Teams Administrative Manager, Cochrane will administer national teams for both males and females at the U-15, 16, 17, 18, 20 as well as the Men’s Olympic U-23 Team.

It is an exciting time for Canadian soccer and I hope very much to be able to assist in achieving the goals we have set for the program,” stated Cochrane from Washington, DC. “There were not many positions that could have pulled me away from DC United, but this was definitely one of them.”
“We are pleased to have Earl join our overall team,” stated Holger Osieck, CSA Technical Director and Men’s National team coach. “We look forward to having him join us in January.”
This position reports to Holger Osieck, Technical Director and Men’s World Cup team head coach.
