2023 Futsal Canadian Championship
Canada Soccer’s 2023 Futsal Canadian Championship is set to kickoff Thursday 13 April in Calgary, Alberta. All matches will be played at Seven Chiefs Sportsplex from 13 to 16 April and will be hosted by the Calgary United Soccer Association in partnership with Tourism Calgary.
All matches of the 2023 Futsal Canadian Championship will be broadcast LIVE on YouTube via the CanadaSoccerTV channel. Fans will find daily updated results on CanadaSoccer.com and Canada Soccer’s Twitter page.
The 2023 competition will highlighted by the introduction of the first-ever women’s Futsal Canadian Championship. The expansion of the Futsal Canadian Championship to crown a women’s club champion is another important milestone for the sport in Canada. With the help of Provincial and Territorial Member Associations, Canada Soccer aspires to continue to grow the game and inspire Canadians through our national competitions.
The competition will feature provincial and territorial champions in both competitions from Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta, British Colombia, Yukon, and Nunavut.
Group A on the women’s side will feature Quebec champions Xtrême, Manitoba champions Legacy FC, Alberta champions 1UP, and Saskatchewan champions SK Impact. Group B will feature Yukon champions Yukon Selects, Nunavut champions Team Nunavut, British Columbia champions NIFA Pacific FC, and Ontario champions Scarborough GS United.
Group A on the men’s side will feature the 2022 Futsal Canadian Championship winners and Quebec’s PLFQ champions Sporting Montréal FC, British Columbia champions Pacific Futsal, Manitoba champions Pioneers FC, and Yukon champions Team Yukon. Group B features Ontario champions 9 de Octubre, Nunavut champions Team Nunavut, Alberta champions Callies FC, and Saskatchewan champions Olimpia SK FC
Futsal Canadian Championship
The Futsal Canadian Championship has been hosted annually since 2015, although the competition was put on hold for two years because of the pandemic before it made its return in April 2022. Quebec are the defending Futsal Canadian Championship winners, Ontario was the 2019 champion, Quebec was the 2017 champion, while Ontario were the inaugural 2015 and 2016 champions.
Futsal is a unique, fast-paced indoor sport played across Canada and around the world. Canada Soccer is committed to the growth and promotion of the game. At the elite club level, Canada Soccer supports domestic competition through the annual Futsal Canadian Championship.
Canada Soccer is committed to supporting international playing opportunities in futsal through participation in the Concacaf Club Futsal Championships and through the Futsal National Team with international participation in the Concacaf Futsal Championship and the FIFA Futsal World Cup.
