Canada has qualified for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Mexico 2011. Canada booked its spot on 23 February with a 2-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago in the quarter-final phase of the 2011 CONCACAF Men's Under-17 Championship. It marks the first time since Ecuador 1995 that Canada returns to the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Canada now advances to the CONCACAF semi-final stage to face Panama on Friday 25 February. Host Jamaica will face USA in the other semi-final match. Both matches will be broadcast live on CONCACAF.com.
Canada has posted two wins and one draw thus far in the CONCACAF Men's Under-17 Championship. It remains the only team with no goals allowed and no yellow cards. In the quarter-final, Canada's two goals were scored by Chris Nanco and Keven Aleman.
Actually, all of Canada's national teams as a group are now undefeated with no goals allowed in 10-straight CONCACAF matches, including both the CONCACAF Women's World Cup in October/November 2010 (five matches) and the CONCACAF Women's Under-17 Championship in March 2010 (last two matches).
