Canada held onto first place in Group A with a big 3:0 win over host Mexico. Canada finished first with a perfect nine points, winning all three of its matches at the Estadio Beto Ávila in Cancún, Mexico. With the group stage complete, Canada advances to the semi-final stage to face Costa Rica on 5 November.
"The players have grown lots," said Canadian national head coach Carolina Morace. "They showed they want to win, they don’t want to give up and they fight until the end of the match. It is not easy to score three goals against Mexico."

On Monday, USA finished first in its group following a 4:0 victory over Costa Rica. As a result, USA faces Mexico in the other semi-final match on 5 November.
Canada, whose title sponsor is Winners and presenting sponsor is Teck, is first looking to qualify for the FIFA Women's World Cup Germany 2011. A win on Friday 5 November will do that. With a win, Canada will also advance to the championship final with their sights set on a first continental championship since 1998.
The FIFA Women's World Cup Germany 2011 runs 26 June to 17 July in nine German cities: Augsburg, Berlin, Bochum, Dresden, Frankfurt, Leverkusen, Mönchrngladbach, Sinsheim, and Wolfsburg. Canada has qualified for each of the past four FIFA Women's World Cups (Sweden 1995, USA 1999, USA 2003, China 2007) and hopes to make it five straight in early November. The top two teams from the CONCACAF championship will qualify for Germany 2011 while the third-place team will face Italy in a two-leg playoff for the final place.
