After winning its first game of the tournament, Canada lost its second match of the 2013 Yongchuan Cup 1:3 to Korea Republic on 14 January at the Yongchuan Olympic Center in Yongchuan, China.
Nichelle Prince scored her first senior goal for Canada, on only her second appearance, but it wasn't enough after going down 0-3.
Canada started the match brightly but endured a difficult spell midway through the first half giving the ball away a number of times in key areas.
Twice Korea punished Canada for their first-half errors.
First it was Jeon Ga Eul who picked up the ball and burst into the area before hitting it home, top corner, to give Korea the 1-0 lead.
Then it was Ji So Yun who repeated a similar move beating Karina LeBlanc with an effort to make it 2-0.
Canada had a number of chances to pull one back as Diana Matheson and Adriana Leon had narrow misses after the Korean goals.
Christabel Oduro was brought down in the box late in the first half, but the referee waved away the penalty claims.
The Canadians started the second half on the front foot but were unable to create any openings in the final third and it was Korea who struck again.
Jung Seol Bin scored a screamer from 25 yards out that beat LeBlanc to her right side.
Canada made a number of substitutions following the third goal which changed the dynamic of the match and it eventually paid dividends.
Rhian Wilkinson burst down the right flank to deliver a cross which was headed home off the post by Prince.
The Canadians continued the rally after the goal but could not cut any further into the deficit, losing 3:1 on the night.

Desiree Scott received a yellow card in the 82nd minute.
Korea Republic started the match with Kim Jung Mi in goal; and Lee Eun Mi, Shim Seo Yeon, Cho So Hyun, Jeon Ga Eul, Ji So Yun, Park Hee Young, Jung Seol Bin, Lim Seon Joo, Kim Hye Ri and Kim Narae across the pitch.
Jeong Yeonga, Choe Sujin, Cha Yun Hee, Jeoun Eun Ha and Park Hee Young entered the match as substitutes.
Jeon Ga Eul and Kim Narae received yellow cards.
The match was played in front of a crowd of 500 spectators in Yongchuan.
