Match Report

CF Montreal opened the scoring in the 14’ as a pass from Waterman connected with Matko Miljevic who then made a beautiful pass through two Forge FC defenders to Sunusi Ibrahim who ran it in the box and took a low shot off his right foot which passed Triston Henry for a goal.

Waterman passed it to Miljevic who passed it to Kamara and then into the box and crossed it to Sunusi Ibrahim for his second goal of the match in the 22’.

Sunusi Ibrahim scored again for a hat trick with a free-kick just outside the left of the box from Miljevic in the 49’.

Bekker made a pass to David Choinière whose shot curved wide of goal (59’).

In the 67’ Waterman made a powerful shot but Triston Henry made a huge save to put it over the crossbar.

David Choinière took a shot outside the box which forced James Pantemis to push it over the crossbar.

Sunusi Ibrahim's three goal performance saw him named as the Gatorade Performance of the Match.

CF Montreal starting lineup featured six Canadian players: Captain Samuel Piette, goalkeeper James Pantemis, Zachary Brault-Guillard, Joel Waterman, Zorhan Bassong and Mathieu Choiniere.

Head coach Wilfried Nancy brought on Rida Zouhir for Mathieu Choinière (62’), Jojea Kwizera came in for Sunusi Ibrahim (62’), Ahmed Hamdi for Match Miljevic (73’).

Forge FC’s starting XI featured seven Canadians: Captain Kyle Bekker, goalkeeper Triston Henry, David Choinière, Terran Campbell, Kwasi Poku, Alessandro Hojabrpour and Garven-Michée Metusala.

Head coach Bobby Smyrniotis was forced into a first half substitution, bringing on Abdulmalik Owolabi-Belewu for Garven-Michée Metusala (22’), Tristan Borges came in for Emery Welshman, Woobens Pacius for Terran Campbell and Sebastian Castello for David Choinière.
