Holy Cross FC made it a double when their men’s team captured the Challenge Trophy at the 2025 National Championships. They won the title in front of an elated home crowd of 2,992 fans at King George V Park in St. John’s. Defending champions Gloucester Celtic FC held a 1-0 lead after 33 minutes, but then MVP Harry Carter equalised 1-1 in the 80th minutes before Holy Cross FC won 5-3 on penalties.
Canada Soccer’s National Championships are hosted each October across six divisions in three venues: the adult competition for the men’s Challenge Trophy and women’s Jubilee Trophy; the U-17 Cup competition for boys and girls; the U-15 Cup competition for boys and girls. In 2025, the National Championships will be hosted in St. John’s, Newfoundland Labrador (Challenge Trophy and Jubilee Trophy), Kamloops, British Columbia (U-17 Cup), and Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island (U-15 Cup).
