Toronto Ulster United FC won their first Dominion of Canada Football Championship in 1925, returning to claim the Connaught Cup just three years after they had lost the 1922 final to Calgary Hillhurst FC. Toronto were not to be denied a second time, as they won the decisive match 2:0 to clinch the title.
In winning the Championship, Toronto eliminated Montréal Carsteel FC in the quarter-finals and then Fort William Veterans in the semi-finals. After back-to-back draws to open the final against Nanaimo, Toronto got two goals from their captain Bobby Lavery to win the series.
