As a result of the global pandemic, the 2020 Canadian Championship Final was revised to feature a winning MLS team (winners of an all-Canadian phase of the 2020 season) against a winning CPL team (winners of the 2020 Island Games). The Final was ultimately postponed until June 2022 with Toronto FC the Canadian winners after kicks from the penalty mark.
