Joe Clulow

Joseph Benjamin Clulow... worked as a maintenance man for the Toronto Board of Education... he was 76 years old when he passed away in Scarborough on 10 November 1975 after a battle with cancer...

posthumously honoured by the Canada Soccer Hall of Fame as a player...

as noted in 1925 in the Winnipeg Tribune, he was “a football player all the time: he has some splendid touches and places the ball along the ground to the clever forwards”... also noted as a “versatile player” as he played in several positions for Ulster United... as noted in 1929 by The Globe, he was “one of the most reliable backs in the game”... as described in 1975, he was a “husky centre half”... as a player, turned down offers to play for West Ham (England) and Aberdeen (Scotland)...
