Herbert Pogson... moved to Hamilton, ON in 1914... served with the 173rd Battalion of the Canadian Army in the Great War (he won a medal for bravery)... he was 19 years old when enlisted for the Canadian Over-Seas Expeditionary Force on 17 February 1916 in Hamilton, ON... served as a sergeant-major with the Argyle and Sutherland Highlanders in the Second World War... worked for the Eaton Knitting Company... as noted in 1927 in the Toronto Telegram, Pogson was “good at inside or outside left”...
