Donald Morrison... in 1905, his brother Sidney died in the icy waters of Big Lake (three Morrison brothers Arthur, Sidney and Don jumped in to save a youth that had fallen through the ice; both the youth and Sidney died)... he was 55 years old when he passed away on 1 January 1934 in Ladysmith, BC, CAN...
wrote historian Colin Jose, Morrison was “considered one of the finest goalkeepers in British Columbia”... as noted in a 1924 Australia program, Morrison knew “the game from every angle and his knowledge (is) indispensable”... as noted in a 1924 Brisbane program, “if any (Canadian) player fails to ‘show’ himself to Don’s satisfaction, there is trouble brewing”...
served as trainer with Canada’s national team...
