as noted in 1928 in the Edmonton Journal, “a great shot and knows how to distribute the ball to his wingmen”... as noted in 1929 in an Edmonton Canadian National news bulletin, he was “a great leader when attacking, can distribute the balls splendidly, keeps the game open, and is a real menace to opposing goalkeepers”... as noted in 1929 in the Calgary Albertan, he was “the best centre forward in the Province and could hold his own with any leader in the Dominion”... as noted after he signed with Westminster Royals FC, he was said “to be another Jock Coulter” (who, at the time, was unavailable through injury)...
