Roy Cavallin

Roy Fred Cavallin... lacrosse family (brother John)... he was 91 years old when he passed away on 22 June 2011 in Burnaby, BC, CAN... a three-time Mann Cup winner in the 1940s (1943, 1945 and 1948)... his wife Isabell and him were big supporters of the Special Olympics...

as noted in 1942, he was “known as one of Canada’s best (lacrosse) players”...

For Sport

served as athletic trainer for the British Columbia Lions... served as Canada’s athletic trainer in FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in 1957... was noted for giving Canada’s players “several whiffs” from an oxygen tank at half time of Canada’s victory over USA on 22 June 1957 (already up 2-1, Canada scored three more goals en route to a 5:1 victory at Varsity Stadium)...
