William Knight Nicol... sports family (basketball son Bill Jr, rugby/baskeball son Steve)... he married his wife Sylvia on 3 September 1960... actually had to adjust his wedding date so he could take part in Canada Soccer’s international tour to the Soviet Union and United Kingdom (Billy and Sylvia honeymooned for one week before the Canadian team left for Europe)... played basketball at Seattle University, but left school to return home and help support his family (some family members, notably his grandparents who helped raise him, had passed away)... worked in the sporting good business for Sparlings in Vancouver... owned All-Star Sports in Vancouver (originally called Champions Sports)...

represented Canada on the four-week tour to the Soviet Union and United Kingdom in 1960 with Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team...

with Vancouver Firefighters FC, a Canada Soccer National Championships winner (Challenge Trophy in 1973)... a two-time Pacific Coast League winner (1958, 1962-63)... was a member of Firefighters FC that won the 1973 Sport BC Team of the Year award... a five-time all-star selection in five successive seasons (including an All Canada selection in 1960)...
