John Easton... he was 30 years old when he moved from Belfast to Winnipeg in 1904... he was married to his wife Isabella (d.1944) and together they had one daughter and three sons... his son Herbie of the Royal Canadian Air Force was reported missing during a World War II mission from Kiel in 1941... he was 75 years old when he passed away in Winnipeg on 29 April 1949... he was an elder of the Presbyterian Church of Canada... he was chairman of the Winnipeg public parks board... he was a life member of the St. John’s Lodge, No. 4 A.F. and A.M.... served as president and secretary-treasurer of the Protestant orphans’ home of Manitoba... served as President of Triennial Orance council (1930-32)... he was a life member of the Winnipeg Conservative club...

served as the seventh President of the Dominion of Canada Football Association (1922-26)... honoured as a Canada Soccer Life Member...

as noted in his 1949 obituary in the Winnipeg Free Press, he “was an outstanding fraternalist, churchman, child welfare worker, and recreational promoter”...
