Canada Soccer has confirmed the 44 youth rosters for the Toyota National Championships that will run 9 to 14 October in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia for the U-17 Cup and Quinte West, Ontario for the U-15 Cup. In all, 783 youth players across the two age categories have been confirmed for the boys’ and girls’ divisions.

Players registered for the U-17 Cup are born 2007 or later while players registered for the U-15 Cup are born 2009 later.

Canada Soccer’s Toyota National Championships are hosted each October across six divisions in three venues: the men’s Challenge Trophy and women’s Jubilee Trophy (adult competitions) in Surrey, British Columbia; the U-17 Cup in Cape Breton for boys and girls; the U-15 Cup in Quinte West for boys and girls.

Earlier this year, the inaugural Player-Development Program Championship featured 28 teams across the PDP U-17 Cup and PDP U-15 Cup for boys and girls. Across the Futsal Canadian Championship, PDP Championship and Toyota National Championships, Canada Soccer’s national amateur competitions have featured a record 105 qualified teams in 2024.

Canada Soccer’s U-17 Cup will be hosted in Sydney and area, the unofficial capital of Cape Breton Island. This region is filled with plenty of restaurants, hotels, experiences and the most notable, world’s largest fiddle! The event will take place at Cape Breton University’s Ness Timmons Field, MacKinnon Field and Veterans Memorial Field in New Waterford and Open Hearth Park Steel Turf Field and Steelman’s Memorial Field in Sydney.

Canada Soccer’s U-15 Cup will be held at Centennial Park. Centrally located in Trenton, Centennial Park is home to the Duncan McDonald Arena, the Bob Wannamaker Amphitheatre, a splash pad, a skatepark, sports fields, playgrounds, and the Quinte West Pop-ups. A paved waterfront path links the park to downtown Trenton, where you’ll find restaurants, cafes and shopping opportunities.

This year marks the 100th edition of Canada Soccer’s national amateur competitions since they were first inaugurated in 1913 after the organisation’s establishment. Over the years, those competitions have featured different divisions and age levels, with the inaugural Dominion of Canada Football Championship switched to a strictly amateur competition in 1962. Since 2008, Canada Soccer’s national amateur competitions have been complemented by the Canadian Championship which today features men’s professional and semi-professional clubs from Major League Soccer, the Canadian Premier League and League1 Canada.

At all age levels, Canada Soccer’s national amateur competitions provide a meaningful soccer experience for host cities and participating teams, including the players, coaches, support staff, officials and volunteers.
