Wilkinson joins Sault Ste. Marie Sports Hall

Clive Wilkinson has been inducted as a soccer coach and builder in the Sault Ste. Marie Sports Hall of Fame. Wilkinson is one of four 2009 inductees, joining alpine skier Brigitte Acton, swimmer Jessica Tuomela and boxer Steve Beaupre in the Class of 2009.



Wilkinson has been involved in soccer for more than 50 years. He has been an Ontario Soccer Association Coaching Instructor since 1978 and is the former president of the Sault Amateur Soccer Association. He is also the president and founding member of the Sault Soccer Coaches Association as well as chair of the Sault Ste. Marie Indoor Soccer Facility committee.

Wilkinson has most recently served as vice-president of the Ontario Soccer Association. He is a life member of both the Sault Amateur Soccer Association and the Ontario Soccer Association. In the past, he has served as chair of the Ontario Soccer Association and Canadian Soccer Association Coaching Committee.



Since 2002, the Sault Ste. Marie Sports Hall of Fame has inducted an annual class that recognizes the excellent achievements in the athletic community. Mr. Wilkinson is the first soccer representative inducted into the Sault Ste. Marie Sports Hall of Fame.
