Canada wins 4:0 over Costa Rica to qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011. Josée Bélanger, Jonelle Filigno and Christine Sinclair make it 3-0 before a late Costa Rica own goal concludes a 4:0 victory. Kara Lang makes her 92nd (and final) appearance for Canada.

Canada draws 1:1 with Haiti in a FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Down a goal at the break, Mike Stojanovic scores the tying goal early in the 50th minute.

Canada wins 2:0 over Mexico to qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup (originally scheduled as China 2003, it would eventually become USA 2003). Canada gets help from its opponent as both goals – in the 10th and 71st minutes – were credited as own goals.

Canada posts its first-ever win at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, a 4:0 victory over Spain in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Kyriakos Selaidopoulos (two), Sipho Sibiya and Kyle Yamada score for Canada.
THIS DAY IN FOOTBALL: 8 November 1992
Canada falls 2:3 to El Salvador in a FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match in Burnaby, BC. After Dale Mitchell evens the score in the 71st minute (the 19th and final goal of his international career), Oscar Ulloa scores the winning goal in the 89th minute (Ulloa’s second of the match).

Canada wins the 2010 CONCACAF Women’s World Cup Qualifier with a 1:0 win over Mexico in the championship final in Cancún, MEX. Christine Sinclair scores the lone goal of the match on a penalty kick. Sophie Schmidt becomes the 19th player to make her 50th appearance for Canada.

Canada falls 1:2 to USA in the 2002 CONCACAF Women’s World Cup Qualifier championship final. Charmaine Hooper had equalised for Canada at the end of the first half, but then Mia Hamm scored the gold-medal winning goal. Despite the loss, Canada has already qualified for the FIFA Women’s World Cup USA 2003.
THIS DAY IN FOOTBALL: 11 November 2000
Canada “shocks” USA in a 3:1 Women’s International Friendly victory at Crew Stadium in Columbus, OH. It marks the first time in 14 years that Canada defeats USA. Christine Sinclair, Charmaine Hooper and Silvana Burtini – three of Canada’s all-time greatest scorers – score for Canada. Tiffeny Milbrett scores for USA on a penalty. Canadian goalkeeper Nicole Wright makes 14 saves in the victory. Said Canadian coach Even Pellerud, “I told my team back in May that I thought we could beat USA, but I didn’t think it would be tonight.” As for the November temperature, the match report reads “45 degrees – Cold”.

In Canada’s 100th FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match, Canada posts a 0:0 away draw to eliminate St. Kitts and Nevis. Canada clinches its place in CONCACAF Round 3 of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil Qualifiers. Canada also ties a national record by posting its third-straight FIFA World Cup Qualifiers clean sheet away from home.
