The 23 Players Representing CANW17 at the Concacaf Women’s U-17 Qualifiers

Canada looks to qualify for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025™

Canada Soccer has announced the 23 players who will represent Canada’s Women’s U-17 National Team (CANW17) at the 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-17 Championship, the final stage of the region’s qualifying competition for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025™.

“As a staff, we are really looking forward to this next challenge for this talented group of players as we look to qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Morocco later this year. This will be the first tournament format experience for some players, but also another opportunity for others within the group that have been in a Championship qualifying setting before.”

– Gary Moody, Canada Soccer’s Women’s U-17 National Team Interim Head Coach

The Final Round now features 12 teams. Joining the four highest-ranked nations – Canada, Haiti, Mexico, and the United States – are the six group winners from Round One: Puerto Rico, Honduras, Panama, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua. In addition, Trinidad & Tobago and Bermuda secured their places as the two best-performing second-place finishers.

The competition, set to take place from 31 March to 6 April 2025, will see Canada compete in Group B, alongside Puerto Rico, Panama, and Nicaragua. All matches will take place in Nicaragua, at the Estadio Nacional. The team’s campaign will kick off with a match against Nicaragua on Tuesday, 1 April 2025, at 20:00 ET / 17:00 PT, followed by a match against Panama on Thursday, 3 April 2025, at 17:00 ET / 14:00 PT, and will conclude group play against Puerto Rico on Sunday, 6 April 2025, at 17:00 ET / 14:00 PT.

At the tournament’s conclusion, the three group winners and the best second-place finisher will secure qualification for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025™. Now an annual event expanded from 16 to 24 teams, the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup is scheduled to take place in Morocco from 17 October to 8 November 2025, bringing together national teams from six confederations.

The team will be led by Interim Head Coach Gary Moody, who has been part of the U-17 program since 2021. Moody’s support staff for this camp includes Assistant Coaches Jen Herst and Tina Cook, Goalkeeper Coach Christopher Cinelli-Faia, and Analyst Laurent Klein.

In preparation for this tournament, CANW17 recently competed in the MIMA Cup in Spain, where the team gained valuable competitive experience, recording a 3-0 victory over Scotland while falling to England (0-2) and Sweden (1-3).
