Korthuis, a former member of Canada’s National Training Centre program, helped Huskie Alumni win the 2009 Saskatchewan Premier Soccer League championship. He then played in his team’s four matches at the 2009 BMO National Championships Challenge Trophy competition in Saskatoon, SK. He scored the opening goal of an impressive 3:0 win over eventual-champion Hellas SC.

Stangier, meanwhile, helped Saskatoon NATA win the 2009 Saskatchewan provincial title. At the 2009 BMO National Championships Jubilee Trophy competition, Stangier helped NATA finish fourth overall, the best-ever finish by a Saskatchewan club at the senior women’s competition. Stangier now joins Amy Vermeulen as the only three-time winners of the Saskatchewan Senior Female Player of the Year award since 1993.
