All 12 competing CONCACAF Gold Cup nations are expected to announce their rosters by Monday (if they have not done so already), when CONCACAF officially posts the rosters to CONCACAF.com. Canada’s roster announcement will be followed by a national media call with head coach Stephen Hart at 11.30 ET / 08.30 PT.

This marks the 20th anniversary of the CONCACAF Gold Cup, which debuted back in 1991. Canada won one CONCACAF championship before 1991 (in 1985 when it qualified for the 1986 FIFA World Cup) and then one CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2000 (when it qualified for the FIFA Confederations Cup Japan/Korea 2001). The 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup serves as the official qualification competition for the FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013.

Coach Hart will lead Canada at the CONCACAF Gold Cup for a third time. At the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup, Canada reached the quarter-final stage before falling 0:1 to Honduras on a penalty. In 2007, Canada reached the semi-final stage before falling 1:2 to USA.
