St. John’s 2025
Québec won the Boys’ Soccer Tournament at the 2025 Canada Games in St. John’s after they won 4-3 on penalties over Alberta at history King George V Park. The two sides played to a scoreless draw through 80 minutes of regular time and 30 minutes of extra time before Philippe Chartrand made two saves in the penalty shootout and Eliakim Mathieu Awonongbadje, Michael Adom Ampofo, Christian N’sa and Alexander Makarova George all scored from the spot.
Québec’s U-17 squad went undefeated across four matches with group wins over Manitoba and Newfoundland & Labrador followed by a Semifinals win over Nova Scotia. Midfielder Michael Adom Ampofo was selected Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
All 12 teams were in action on the last day of the Boys’ Soccer Tournament. Behind Québec for Gold and Alberta for Silver, British Columbia won Bronze after a 4:0 victory over Nova Scotia. In all, 85 goals were scored across the competition’s 24 matches.
In the Final, Québec’s winning lineup included Philippe Chartrand (goal), Thomas Milhomme, Daniel Panait, Eliakim Mathieu Awonongbadje, Amine Attar (captain), Adam Allou, Michael Adom Ampofo, Diego Nue-Brito, Ali Messoudi, Arthur Masson, and Liam Guay. Alexander Makarova George, Christian N’sa, Miles Douglas, Matteo Carmosino, and Darryl Guerrier all featured as substitutes while Louka Pohu and Marcus Luberisse did not feature in the Final. The Head Coach was Alessandro Salvoni, the Assistant Coach was Christophe Blin, and the Team Manager was Nicholas Borrelli.
