Pellerud Announces Roster For Japan Friendly

Ottawa, Ontario – Canadian Women’s World Cup Team head coach Even Pellerud today named his 19-player roster for the upcoming friendly against Japan on Friday, July 30th, 2004 at 16:30 (local) at Tokyo’s National Stadium. The team will also play an exhibition match against a Japanese National Team Selection at Amino Vital Field Stadium in Tokyo on Monday, August 2nd, 2004.



The team will depart for Tokyo on Monday, July 26th and will return on Tuesday, August, 3rd, 2004.



Pellerud has invited six new players from the U-19 team that placed first at the CONCACAF U-19 Qualifying Tournament and earned a place in the FIFA U-19 Women’s World Championship Thailand 2004; Josee Belange (Coaticook, QC), Amanda Cicchini (Oakville, ON), Stephanie Labbe (Stoney Plain, AB), Sari Raber (Richmond, BC), Jodi-Anne Robinson (Richmond, BC), and Stacey VanBoxmeer (Collingwood, ON) who was named the top goalkeeper in the tournament with four shut-outs in five games.
