Pellerud Announces Roster For Australia Series

Ottawa, Ontario – Canadian Women’s World Cup Team Head Coach Even Pellerud has named 17 players to the squad which will face Australia in a two-game series on September 26 and 28 in Vancouver and Victoria, BC, respectively.

Ottawa, Ontario – Canadian Women’s World Cup Team Head Coach Even Pellerud has named 17 players to the squad which will face Australia in a two-game series on September 26 and 28 in Vancouver and Victoria, BC, respectively.



The squad includes four members of the Under-19 team which won silver medals at the FIFA U-19 Women’s World Championship: Melanie Booth, Clare Rustad, Brittany Timko and Kara Lang. Also invited is newcomer Laisha Alcia, who played for the W-League Toronto Inferno this summer and attends the University of Illinois.



Pellerud is still negotiating with the University of Portland for the release of forward Christine Sinclair.



The Canadians will play Australia on September 26 in Burnaby’s Swangard Stadium at 8:00 p.m. while the second game will be played at 1:00 p.m. on September 28 in Victoria’s Centennial Stadium.
