Olympic champion Jayde Riviere has signed her first professional contract with Manchester United FC in the FA Women’s Super League in England. The Canadian fullback from Markham, Ontario has signed with the club through the 2024-25 season.

On the eve of her 22nd birthday, Riviere has already won an Olympic gold medal, represented Canada at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, and won two Concacaf medals. She has made 36 international “A” appearances and was part of the 2021 squad that set a Women’s National Team record 12-match undefeated streak.

“Jayde is an exciting young player who matches the long-term version of Manchester United and our continued belief in nurturing the best young talent in the game,” said Head Coach Marc Skinner on manutd.com. “We have been monitoring Jayde for a long time and believe she has the attributes to become an excellent footballer. We are delighted she has signed her first professional contract with us and look forward to seeing the quality she will add to the group.”

Riviere joins Manchester United FC in second place midway through the 2022-23 season, just three points back of league leaders Chelsea FC with a game in hand. Before turning pro, Riviere spent the 2022 season at the University of Michigan and also played four matches with AFC Ann Arbour in the USL W League.
