Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team captain and goalkeeper Milan Borjan will miss the remainder of the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup through injury. Borjan has returned to Europe so that he can continue his recovery ahead of the 2023-24 club season.

Borjan was in goal for Canada’s 2:2 draw with Guadeloupe in Toronto as well as the 0:0 draw with Guatemala in Houston. With two points from two matches, Canada must win their group finale against Cuba to qualify for the Concacaf Quarterfinals with either a first- or second-place finish in Group D.

Borjan is the Men’s National Team’s all-time leader in matches by a goalkeeper and clean sheets. He recently helped Canada win the Concacaf Final Round of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, featured in all three Canada matches at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and won Silver at the 2022-23 Concacaf Nations League. At the club level, he won six-straight Serbian SuperLiga titles with Red Star Belgrade.

Across Canada, the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup matches are broadcast live via OneSoccer, available as a linear channel on Telus’ Optik TV (Channel 980), on the fuboTV Canada platform as well as online at OneSoccer.ca, and through the OneSoccer app. Fans will find extended coverage for the matches across Canada Soccer’s digital channels on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube featuring the hashtag #CANMNT.
