Media Conference Scheduled For Ottawa

Ottawa, Ontario – The Canadian Soccer Association will hold a media conference on Tuesday, May 20th, at 1:30 p.m. in the Assembly Hall at the Ottawa Civic Centre to officially launch the upcoming woman’s international friendly against England on Thursday, May 22nd at Frank Clair Stadium.



CSA Chief Operating Officer, Kevan Pipe will be accompanied by Canadian head coach Even Pellerud, assistant coach Ian Bridge, and local players Charmaine Hooper (Nepean) and Kristina Kiss (Kanata).

CSA Chief Operating Officer, Kevan Pipe will be accompanied by Canadian head coach Even Pellerud, assistant coach Ian Bridge, and local players Charmaine Hooper (Nepean) and Kristina Kiss (Kanata).



England will also attend the event represented by head coach Hope Powell and team captain Karen Walker – England’s all-time top goal scorer.



Following the Tuesday media conference, players from the Canadian Women’s World Cup Team and the Ottawa Fury SC will hold a clinic for 50 local players from 2:30-4:00 p.m. at University of Ottawa.



On Wednesday, May 21st Canadian team players will visit various schools and clubs throughout the Ottawa area from 3:00 – 3:45 p.m.



Canadian players will also attend an open autograph session on Wednesday from 6:30-7:00 p.m. in the Assembly Hall at the Ottawa Civic Centre.



Following the autograph session, the Canadian team will hold an open practice until 8:30 pm.



Local coaches are invited to an informal meet and greet session hosted by assistant coach Ian Bridge in the Assembly Hall following the Canadian practice. Bridge will be available to answer questions on his experiences coaching at the national level. Head coach Even Pellerud may also attend this information session.
