Impact announces annual award winners

The Impact de Montréal announced its annual winners at the 2009 Impact Awards Banquet. Four players were recognized for their on-field achievements, starting with David Testo as the team’s Most Valuable Player for the 2009 season. Testo, in his third season with the Impact, wins the Giuseppe Saputo Trophy.



“David has shown exemplary consistency, leadership, hard work and perseverance,” said Nick De Santis, Technical Director of the Impact de Montréal. “He has always believed in the team and he enjoys the respect of his teammates. He is a key element on the roster and evolves in an important position in which he plays outstandingly well.”

Other winners were Nevio Pizzolitto for Defensive Player of the Year, Stephen DeRoux for Newcomer of the Year, and Adam Braz for Unsung Hero.



The Impact de Montréal play in United Soccer Leagues First Division. It also plays in the Nutrilite Canadian Championship.
