CANWNT to Face Argentina in Vancouver and Vancouver Island

CANWNT back on home soil for a series of international friendly matches against Argentina in British Columbia

Canada Soccer has announced that its Women’s National Team (CANWNT) will return to home soil for a series of international friendly matches against Argentina in British Columbia in the April FIFA Window

The friendly series will kick off at BC Place in Vancouver on Friday, 4 April at 19:30 PT (22:30 ET). The action will conclude on Tuesday, 8 April at Starlight Stadium in Langford with kick off set for 19:00 PT (22:00 ET).

Tickets for the two matches will go on sale to the public on Saturday 15 March, preceded by a series of advance presale windows.

“I’m really looking forward to playing in Canada and experiencing the support of our fans. These matches aren’t just friendlies; they’re stepping stones for our future. Each game gives us an opportunity to build on our standards, our style of play, and our growing belief as a team.”

Casey Stoney, Women’s National Team Head Coach

Canada boasts an unbeaten record against Argentina, having met the South American side on six occasions dating back to 2003. Their most recent encounter took place on 6 October 2022, in Cadiz, Spain, where the Canadians secured a 2-0 victory.

“I speak for everyone at BC Place when I say we love having Canada Soccer at our stadium. We take great pride in being a venue for such exciting international soccer events, and it’s always an honour to provide a stage where our women’s national team can inspire the next generation of players and fans.”

– Chris May, General manager of BC Place.

Earlier this February, under the leadership of new head coach Casey Stoney, CANWNT clinched the 2025 Pinatar Cup. The team recorded a 1-1 draw against China PR, a 2-0 win over Mexico, and a 7-0 win over Chinese Taipei, finishing top of the table and capturing their first piece of silverware in Stoney’s tenure.
