Canadian referees Carol Anne Chénard, Michelle Pye, Marie-Josée Charbonneau and Suzanne Morisset have all been appointed to officiate at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015

Canadian referees Carol Anne Chénard, Michelle Pye, Marie-Josée Charbonneau and Suzanne Morisset have all been appointed to officiate at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015. Chénard and Pye were amongst the 29 referees appointed for the final competition while Charbonneau and Morisset were amongst the 44 assistant referees appointed.

This marks Chénard’s second appointment to the FIFA Women’s World Cup, having previously served as a referee at the Germany 2011 final competition. Chénard has also officiated at two Women’s Olympic Football Tournaments and three FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cups.

This will be the first FIFA Women’s World Cup appointments for Pye, Charbonneau and Morisset. Like Chenard, all three were appointed to last year’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014 (including the Final Match in Montréal).

Referee Chénard has been on the FIFA List of Referees and Assistant Referees since 2006 while Pye has been on the FIFA List since 2007. Assistant referee Charbonneau has been on the FIFA List since 2012 while assistant Morisset has been on the FIFA List since 2008.

The FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015 runs 6 June to 5 July in six cities across Canada. Tickets to the competition are available via FIFA.com/Canada2015.
