Taking part in their first-ever international tournament, the newly formed squad not only embraced the challenge, but they also rose to the occasion. Under the leadership of Head Coach Alexandre Da Rocha, Canada posted four wins in five matches in Guatemala City, leaving a powerful impression on the Concacaf region and beyond.

“From day one, these players embraced the challenge of making history. This is a moment of pride for our players, our staff, and the entire futsal community in Canada. We entered believing we could compete – and now we leave as champions, with our ticket to the World Cup secured. It’s an incredible start for this program.”

Those results secured second spot in the group and set up a dramatic semifinal against Mexico. After a thrilling 4-4 draw in regular time, the match went to penalties, where Canada kept its composure to win the shootout and clinch their ticket to the inaugural FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup.

In the final on Sunday 4 May, Canada capped off their sensational run with a clinical 8-2 victory over Panama to lift the first ever Concacaf W Futsal Championship trophy. Canada’s team was honoured with the Fair Play Award, while Léa Palacio-Tellier received the Best Goalkeeper Award. Esther Brossard, who led Canada’s attack with eight goals, claimed both the Top Scorer and Best Player awards.
