Ottawa, Ontario – Canada Will Play Jamaica in the 2006 CONCACAF Women’s Gold Cup Semi-final on Wednesday after Jamaica defeated Panama 2:0 in the first round held at the Tropical Park Stadium in Miami, Florida USA on Sunday.
The victory for Jamaica also secured a Caribbean berth to the women’s tournament at the 2007 Pan American Games in Brazil.
The semi-final between Canada and Jamaica of the 2006 CONCACAF Women’s Gold Cup at The Home Depot Center on the campus of California State University, Dominguez Hills (Carson, California) will be televised in Canada live on Rogers Sportsnet beginning at 7:30 pm ET.

In the second semi-final to be played on Wednesday, USA will now face Mexico after they defeated Trinidad & Tobago 3:0 on Sunday.
The CONCACAF Women’s Gold Cup Final and a third-place play-off game will take place on November 26 at The Home Depot Center.
The Champion team and the runner-up will automatically qualify to the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup in China. The third-place finisher in the CONCACAF event will face Japan (from the Asian Football Confederation) in a home-and-away playoff for the final berth in the FIFA tournament.
