Canada To Play In Tournament In Egypt

Ottawa, Ontario – The Canadian Soccer Association today announced the Men’s World Cup Team will play in an international tournament in Cairo, Egypt with teams from Iran, Republic of Korea and hosts Egypt, April 24 and 26.

Ottawa, Ontario – The Canadian Soccer Association today announced the Men’s World Cup Team will play in an international tournament in Cairo, Egypt with teams from Iran, Republic of Korea and hosts Egypt, April 24 and 26.


Canada is expected to play Egypt in the first game on April 24 while Iran will face Korea. The final and consolation final will be played on April 26.

The tournament will be used as a warm-up for Canada’s upcoming participation in the FIFA Confederations Cup in Korea/Japan from May 30 – June 10. The draw for the tournament will be held in Korea on April 4. Canadian head coach and technical director Holger Osieck will attend the draw.
