Canada to host crucial Paris 2024 Olympic Games Qualifier in Toronto 

Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team to face Jamaica on 26 September for place at Paris 2024 Olympic Games

Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team will face Jamaica on Tuesday 26 September in Toronto with a final spot at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on the line. The critical match, co-presented by CIBC and Visa, will be the second of a home-and-away cumulative goals winner take-all series played between Canada and Jamaica, with the opening match played four days earlier on 22 September in Jamaica.

Tickets to the highly anticipated match, starting at just $15 (plus applicable fees), will go on sale to the public on Friday 21 July, the day following Canada’s opening match at this summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup™. In advance of the launch of public ticket sales, exclusive presale windows will be available for members of Canada Soccer’s CanadaRED membership programs and Visa cardholders.

Canada and Jamaica qualified for this final phase of Concacaf qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympic Women’s Football competition by virtue of finishing second and third respectively at last summer’s Concacaf W Championship, which also served as Concacaf’s FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™ qualification competition. Canada won all three of its group stage matches, and defeated Jamaica 3:0 at the semi-final stage before falling 1:0 to USA in a tightly contested championship match. Jamaica meanwhile outlasted Costa Rica 1:0 (aet) in the third-place match, earing them an opportunity to compete for the final spot at Paris 2024.

Tickets to the 26 September home match at BMO Field will launch with presale windows starting Tuesday 18 July followed by a public on-sale date of Friday 21 July via Ticketmaster.ca.
The advance presale windows will commence as follows:
18 July: CanadaRED+GOLD and CanadaRED+WHITE members (staggered timing)
19 July: All CanadaRED members
20 July: Visa cardholders

Group Tickets

FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™
Canada’s final 23-player roster for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™ will be announced this coming Sunday 9 July at 13.00 ET / 10.00 PT with a special 30-minute program on the official competition rights holders CTV and TSN (1, 3, & 5).

In the group stage of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™ Canada will face Nigeria on Friday 21 July in Melbourne, the Republic of Ireland on Wednesday 26 July in Perth, and co-hosts Australia on Monday 31 July in Melbourne. Ahead of their opening Group Stage match, Canada’s Women’s National Team will travel to the Sunshine Coast to compete in a behind-closed-doors match against England on 14 July 2023.  

CANADA SOCCER’S WOMEN’S NATIONAL TEAM
Canada are Olympic champions (Tokyo 2020), two-time bronze medal winners (2012 and 2016), and two-time Concacaf champions (1998 and 2010). In all, Canada have participated in seven consecutive editions of the FIFA Women’s World Cup™ (1995 to 2019) and four consecutive editions of the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament (2008 to 2021). At Tokyo 2020, Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team became the first Canadian team to win three consecutive medals at the Summer Olympic Games and just the third nation in the world to win three medals in women’s soccer.

Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Youth Teams, meanwhile, have won four Concacaf youth titles: the 2004 and 2008 Concacaf Women’s Under-20 Championship, the 2010 Concacaf Women’s Under-17 Championship, and the 2014 Concacaf Girls’ Under-15 Championship.
